The specialised expertise and certified qualifications of our engineering team can ensure the quality of our work, the methodology and approach that we follow for undertaking design and contracting work for any size of project.

We can offer a wide range of solutions, which purely depends on your needs and the individual requirements and challenges of every project.

We apply the principles of sustainable building design and construction in approaching our projects, with the following aims: achieving a good quality and comfortable internal environment, energy consumption saving and minimising the overall environmental impact due to the construction and operation of buildings.

To this effect, we use the following methodology:

                                                 Assessment of design criteria

We look into the desired internal design conditions (e.g. hours of operation, design temperatures etc.) for each type of space / building, recommending, where feasible, modifications which may lead to energy savings

Passive / bioclimatic design

We propose solutions for the design or refurbishment of buildings based on the principles of passive / bioclimatic design (natural ventilation, natural lighting, solar access, shading etc.)

Energy-efficient building systems

We assess the proposed strategy for satisfying the building’s main energy needs, i.e. the design of the space heating / cooling / DHW / ventilation and lighting systems. We recommend solutions for using low-energy M&E systems, whilst achieving comfortable internal conditions and satisfying the Client’s needs

Controls – Energy management

The use of the appropriate control features for M&E systems can lead to a more rational use of energy, avoiding excess consumption when parts of the building are not in use

Integration of Renewable Energy Sources

After minimising the building’s energy demand through the above steps, we assess the feasibility of integrating RES technologies into the design, with the aim of reducing primary energy use and therefore reducing the building’s overall environmental impact for satisfying its energy needs

Sustainability principles

We approach building design using a holistic approach, aiming at minimising the overall environmental impact from a building’s construction and operation, applying sustainable design principles: rational use of water resources, of materials and energy, enhancement of ecological value etc, using as a basis the internationally recognised buildings’ sustainability assessment methodology BREEAM
